Here, one can go beyond the standard teaching ballads with advanced studies.

Not only do Harpers teach and sing, they also perform judicial services like marriages and negotiations, and sit on councils for the trial of criminals.

Harpers are also trained to convey information from Hall to Hold and back again.

To become an apprentice harper, one must be dedicated, and have some musical talent. A reccomendation from a Journeyman Harper is also a plus, but the Hall will not turn away any qualified candidate purely due to lack of a reccomendation. Generally, apprentice harpers range from 13-17 turns in age.

To rise to senior apprentice status, one must show significant improvement in all areas, and at least basic proficiency in an instrument other than voice. For the most part, senior apprentices range from 16 to 21 turns.

To walk the tables to Journeyman, one must show understanding of all harper duties, and be able to play at least one instrument (other than voice) at maximum proficiency. Journeyman status is most often reached between 20 and 30 turns.

Attaining Mastery in HarperCraft takes many turns. Generally, Mastery can be reached at 30 turns by a very dedicated crafter. It is not easy to attain Mastery. A Master (or lower-ranked crafter with a goal of reaching Mastery) will not have a secondary craft.
