Canadian Forces Infantry MOS

Canadian Forces Infantry MOS

Infantry is the standard combat career used to hold ground.  The 'grunt' trade is one of the most numerous and branching of all military careers.  The standard Infantry is considered Wheeled or Mechanized, as they use vehicles to get to the objective and in support of them.  Mechanized uses M113's, while Wheeled uses Bison, Grizzly or LAV-25.

In 1994, Canada lost its only 'jump' regiment in an involving scandal while the Regiment was in Somalia.  In 1997, in response to the wars, a Jump Company was stood up, though not as an official Regiment (1st Canadian Light Infantry).  Airborne troops are trained to fall behind enemy lines and fight from there.  They are highly trained and capable of amazing feats.

Naval Infantry is new to Canada, though the Regiment has done well for itself.  These Infantry soldiers are highly trained in amphibious assaults and littoral warfare.  Naval Infantry uses Bison's, Grizzly and LAV-25.
