In his human form, Kaeknaok is Caucasian in appearance, and his hair retains the natural color of his mane. Whether dragon or human, Kaeknaok has the Federation tattoo on his left shoulder, a tattoo of a Human skull on his right shoulder, and another, lined tattoo just beneath his right eye. He often has bones braided into his hair, and sports varying numbers of watches and other assorted bracelets on his forelegs or arms. He is always seen wearing several belts, and his prize possession is a human skull and vertebrae which will be worn on a belt while he is in his human form, or tied to the base of his tail.

Mostly, people see him as something of a coward, or just plain weird. Those who are most familiar with his past, can easily claim to know him for a yellow-belly, but even those that speak with him for just a few minutes pick up that he has an almost overwhelming desire to avoid conflict of any kind. Otherwise, he comes off as kind of jumpy, and perhaps a little bit paranoid. Surprisingly, Kaeknaok's other emotions are rather muted... he doesn't seem to experience any emotional extremes, and even if he does, he never acts on his feelings. For those who work past the fearful facade that he likes to put on, this trait evolves into a coldness which prevents many people from getting close to him.

For those that he does allow himself to openly care about, Kaeknaok becomes somewhat more like the pure being that the elders once saw him to be. He is warm, and caring, and will give anything of himself to his loved ones. Above all else, to the few that he truly loves, Kaeknaok is honest, and hides little. But even for these select beings, he is far from the loyal, brave soul that he might have been thought to be... he will disappear at the drop of a dime, running from his problems and everyone who is involved. He seems to have no qualms leaving even those he loves behind. The sole exception to this was his bond while she lived.

By this time, Evanna's world was collapsing, however, and the place that the two found themselves was quickly becoming a very dangerous. Disease and the failure of social order took the lives of Evanna's parents and left the bonds with no one but each other for many days, until they began to run into other young survivors like themselves. The children grouped together, finding comfort and safety in numbers, first managing to protect themselves from the many desperate cannibals that the chaos had left behind... and finally, they were able to become the attackers, and survive.

The bloody chaos lasted only for a few months, and when the dust settled, the young humans were found by the adult survivors and together they all left the tainted cities behind them. For many years, while Evanna and Kaeknaok spent their nights in Sii'Tonaa training, they spent their days being raised by disillusioned survivors... who tried to quell their independence with threats and lies about the world around them. Knowing what none of their friends did about the universe, Kaeknaok and his bond soon began to spread ideas of a world beyond that of the adults, and their close friends took to the notions.

They spread dissent among the other youth, a flame fed by the abuse of those trying to bring them all up, until the inevitable happened and in a single bloody day all of them left and returned to the cities of the old world. There, without any real knowledge of what had come before in those artificial places, Kaeknaok, Evanna, and their people used the concrete things that they could find, and the lessons that the universe had taught them from their earliest moments to build their own way of life. Violence and anger haunted them as the people that they had left attacked them, and their attempts to escape the quarantine zone that had been created around their cities ended in nothing but more loss of life.

Such an existence, painful and hard though it was, had become a way of life for the now full grown Kaeknaok and Evanna, and the people that they considered family were in the midst of it all. It was not until Evanna was killed trying to defend one such family member, that Kaeknaok gave up on that life and made his first disappearance. For some time, no one knew where he was- he had left behind his young son, his people, and the Sii'Tonaa- in short, everything that had mattered to him in the past.

It was Kaeknaok's abandoned son who found him again, years later, and since then the dragon has made a few tentative strides towards returning to the Federation, though he can never return to Evanna's people, his son's people.
